104 - The Christmas Secret (Christmas Hope #5)

Author:Donna VanLiere
My Area of Interest: A Christmas book I picked up for the challenge, but didn't really know it was part of a series, until I ended up reading the first book "The Christmas Shoes".Finished 12/23/13 -Love this series... too bad I couldn't read them all in order. Just what is needed to get into the Christmas spirit.

103 - Christmas: Lost & Found: Rediscovering the True Spirit of Christmas

Author: John A. Jenson
My Area of Interest:Another Christmas book to add to the stack
Finished 12/12/13 -This ended up being a bit different, it wasn't really poemish, it was done in the style of "I lost ....., I found ..." then the next page a life type lesson learned. It was a nice sweet little reminder of how we can get too wrapped up and need to remember the real reasons behind Christmas.

102 - Lost December

Title:Lost December
Author:Richard Paul Evans
My Area of Interest:Picked up for the Christmas Spirit reading challenge
Finished 12/11/13 - In a way this wasn't Christmasy, yet it really was. It had a very spiritual draw to it, as it mixed the story of the prodigal son in with Christmas time. It was good, as I have liked all of Richard Paul Evans's books so far. I am learning now that not all of his books are going to make me cry like some lifetime movie, and that's a good thing. As the main turning at the end of the book really happens at Christmas/boxing day, I say this one fits the challenge as it did bring that Christmas Spirit about.

99 - Xmas Spirit (Ghostgirl #3.5)

Author: Tonya Hurley
My Area of Interest: I read the other three and wanted to read this ebook as well. Glad it fits for the Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge as well!
Finished 12/8/13 - It was a bit hard for me to read, just because it was an ebook, I kept falling asleep. It was a good book, just would have liked it better in print form.

93 - Skipping Christmas

Author: John Grisham
My Area of Interest: I have tried a book of his, and didn't like it, but with the Spirit of Christmas reading challenge, I figured I wold give it a go.
Finished 12/04/13 -To my surprise, I really liked this book. I found myself laughing most of the way thru it. My dad is an accountant, so I could so see him adding up the list of what was spent. The ending had me in stitches
, and now I want to search Netflix for the movie.

A Christmas Journey (Christmas Stories #1)

Author: Anne Perry
My Area of Interest:Reading for the Christmas Spirit Read-a-thon
Castaway -I hated this book, I didn't make it 40 pages in. I just couldn't. I'm not fond of historical books for one, and the author introduced too many people in the first 10 pages that I just kept getting confused. Just really couldn't get into this one or make myself finish it.

92 - The Christmas Blessing

Author:Donna VanLiere
My Area of Interest: A Christmas book I picked up for the challenge, but didn't really know it was part of a series, until I ended up reading the first book "The Christmas Shoes" and then the 5th book in the series, "The Christmas Promise". I then realized I had book two in the series. While the 5th could stand alone, it does help the story to read them in order.
Finished 12/02/13 -Really good book, wish I would have read it before book 5, but it really didn't matter much. The story was really good. Didn't end up crying as I thought I would, but it was a great read!

91 - The Christmas Promise

Author:Donna VanLiere
My Area of Interest:Saw this next to "The Christmas Shoes" and grabbed it for the Christmas reading challenge.
Finished 12/01/13 -Glad I read "The Christmas Shoes" first. I didn't cry thru this one, but it was good, a lot of the same people where in this book as in "The Christmas Shoes", only the little boy was all grown up and was a doctor in the hospital working with children. Those characters were not the main focus of the book, yet background characters. This did make me want to read her other books as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for them at the library.

Christmas tales : celebrated authors on the magic of the season

Author:Various
My Area of Interest: The Christmas Spirit Challenge, I thought it would be a good book of short stories.
Castaway - I tried, I really tried. The first story was bad, the second was getting worse, so I just gave up.
90 - The Christmas Shoes

Author: Donna VanLiere
My Area of Interest: Picked this one up for the Christmas read-a-thon, that and mom just finished watching the sequel to this movie and I figured I would read the book first.
Finished 11/29/13 - As I figured, I was in tears most of the book. It was really good, a big tear jerker.
89 - Grace

Author: Richard Paul Evans
My Area of Interest: Picked this one up for the Christmas read-a-thon
Finished 11/29/13 - Good lord, does someone have to die at Christmas in every one of his books? This one was a little hard to read, just because the thought of someone hurting a child enrages and saddens me at the same time. Never understood how someone could hurt a child, never will. On a somewhat bright note on the book, the beginning has the story of the matchstick girl by Hans Christian Anderson. While that is a sad story too, the reason I was glad to find it was it went with the book series Jordan and I had been reading, "The Sisiters Grimm", neither of us knew the story until today. I also have one more book by Richard Paul Evans, I'm guessing the guy only writes Christmas books, I just hope I don't cry thru the next one as well. I would like to get his done and out of the way so I can maybe get to HAPPY Christmas books.

88 - Finding Noel
Title: Finding Noel
Author: Richard Paul Evans
My Area of Interest: Picked this one up for the Christmas read-a-thon
Finished 11/26/13 - Really good like the last one. As I predicted I cried during this one too. It is making me start to wonder if the author had someone close to him die on Christmas, or if he had a string of crappy Christmases. I only have one more of his from the library, and it's not the Christmas Box, I have that one on reserve. I stayed up till almost 2 am reading this morning. His books are so good I just can't stop reading until I'm done.
This is my 5th book in my Christmas Challenge.
